Trained originally as a Photographer and Filmmaker; My most imagined worlds are often still defined by the digital. I use computer aided technology to inform my humble introduction into woodworking.

I’m currently very interested in the budding additive manufacturing industry and how it will transform the “dead” crafts. In expediting my own practice with 3d printing, I’m learning to focus on what is conceptually possible beyond the clumsy ability of my own two hands. I believe this new technology isn’t going to replace the crafts, but instead allow single individuals to keep making with the mind when the hands are occupied by something else.

My current body of work is a long goodbye to driving as we knew it. I make custom stick shift knobs for old manuals. I use my trusty 3D printer GladOS to make tailor-made cores for a variety of fasteners, allowing me to make entirely custom knobs, handles, and attachment points. In this way I can reverse engineer things in the world to create hand turned precision objects.
